Happy Smile

A healthy smile is a happy smile. Our goal at Walnut Family Dentistry is to diagnose dental disease, treat it, and maintain a healthy smile.

Exams

Regular dental exams are an important part of preventive health care. During a dental exam, the dentist or hygienist will clean your teeth and identify gum inflammation or bone loss. The dentist or hygienist will evaluate your risk of developing tooth decay and other oral health problems, as well as check your face, neck and mouth for abnormalities. A dental exam might also include dental X-rays or other diagnostic procedures.

Cleaning

The dental hygienist or dentist uses specialized instruments to gently remove these deposits without harming the teeth.

Whitening

Teeth whitening is a cosmetic treatment done to improve the appearance of teeth. Teeth are whitened to remove the effects of coffee, cigarettes, and other substances that permanently stain or discolor teeth. Medications such as antibiotics like tetracycline may discolor teeth. Fluorosis, a condition caused by absorbing too much fluoride, could affect tooth color. Furthermore, aging also causes teeth to loose their bright color.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

Dentists are using more tooth-like materials (composite resins and porcelains) that are both safe and predictable. The most important feature, for many people, is that they look and react more like natural teeth.

Root Canal

When the root canal is treated, the pulp of the tooth is removed and all the canals and pulp chamber of the tooth are filled and sealed to prevent bacteria from entering.

Orthodontics

We offer clear braces (Invisalign and Clear Correct) to correct crooked and crowded teeth.

Extractions

Tooth extraction can be performed with local anesthesia if the tooth is exposed and appears to be easily removable in one piece.

Crowns

A crown is a type of dental restoration which completely caps or encircles a tooth or dental implant. Crowns are often needed when a large cavity threatens the ongoing health of a tooth.

Bridges

A dental bridge, aka a regular part prosthesis is a dental restoration used to replace a missing tooth or teeth by joining permanently to adjacent teeth or implants. There are different types of dental bridge, depending on how they’re constructed & how they anchor to the adjacent teeth.

Partials

Removable partial dentures usually consist of replacement teeth attached to pink or gum-colored plastic bases. Depending on your needs, your dentist will design a partial denture for you.

Dentures

A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissues. Two types of dentures are available — complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain.
